iRead program was begun last year and perfected this year. In the 1st grade and 2nd grade classrooms teachers selecgt students who need additional reading support and who have supportive families. The iRead bags go home each night for a week where the students and their families listen to the podcast of a book and matching lessons. A new book podcast is placed on the mp3 at the beginning of each week.

In DPS we have a very active ILT group. Four times a year we get together to research, create, and share our units and lessons in which we have collaborated and integrate 21st Century standards. This year my Professional Learning Community focussed on integrating Web 2.0 tools into core curriculum. Here is the wiki we created. As part of a high-technology school, our library is somewhat under-used. I have tried to encourage more students to use the library through annual contests. This year, I tied it to the Olympic games.
